HBMC upholds the highest ethical values of consultancy practice in its aims to provide an effective service and positive experience that adds value for its clients.

To secure the consultancy’s goal HBMC seeks to:

1.         promote equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice in all areas of its work, regularly monitoring and reviewing the consultancy's commitment to sustain these values.

2.         facilitate the learning of those people who contribute to the lives of client organisations, enabling them to realise their individual and collective potential.

3.         exercise independent objective judgement in providing advice and counsel to clients.

4.         respect and ensure client confidentiality.

5.         be enthusiastic and constructive in working to help clients achieve what they can.

6.         be straightforward, understanding and clear with clients, including sharing bad news with clients when this is required.

7.         advise clients of any potential conflicts of interest. HBMC would withdraw from work that would be compromised by such a set of circumstances.

8.         enhance and improve the skills, knowledge, and experience of the consultancy in order to provide clients with an effective and reliable service.

9.         share with other consultants the benefits of knowledge and insights can improve the ethical standards and professional reputation of management consultancy practice.

10.       contribute a part of the services of this consultancy to assist charitable endeavour.

11.       adopt good employer standards in the consultancy’s engagement of Associates, sub-contractors and staff, both consultant and non-consultant.

12.       be environmentally responsible in the way that the consultancy works and in the recommendations it makes to clients.

13.       review this statement of values on at least an annual basis to ensure its continuing relevance.

14.       Hilary Barnard has overall responsibility for the implementation and monitoring of this policy.
